Georgian House Transformation, Fife

This listed Georgian house has great elegance and presence in the Fife coastal landscape. A simultaneous upgrade was carried out to refresh the detail of the interiors, add insulation and to open up the maze like ‘back of house’ to create an open plan light and welcoming kitchen and new heart of the home – so bringing out the best in the house.

An eye for detail to work with the existing features has included choosing new ornate plasterwork, reclaimed timber floors and changes to the structure of the house that make the most of the light, and views to the landscape.

Views within the house have been opened up to link the house, with the rooms radiating out from the impressive stone helical stair.

As well as making the house more comfortable and reducing energy bills as part of this work, there are also plans afoot to make the ‘zero carbon’ in future phases of work. All of the work is carried out in close partnership with the Clients, sharing expertise and developing ideas together.
