We are an award winning practice specialising in eco design and low energy building design and Passivhaus certification.
We are an award winning practice that blends design led work and environmental responsibility, believing that the two elements are interdependent in creating good design.
We work closely with our Clients to tailor our service and design solutions. This means that our design process and solutions are unique to each project and allows us to tailor our expertise and experience to suit each – be that working with a historic building or a new build.
The process starts with listening to our Clients aspirations, to develop solutions that blend spatial quality, comfort and environmental criteria. Quality of design, detailing and performance of the building are all at the heart of the process.
Eco design is at the centre of all our projects.
There are many facets to this including minimising or eliminating energy and carbon use during construction and building life, careful specification of new and salvaged materials, design for deconstruction, lifecycle analysis and local sourcing of both materials and labour. Different projects have differing priorities and opportunities. Identifying these is part of the early stages of any project.
Collaboration underpins the design process.
Our collaborators include clients, artists, other architects and the design team. Our role varies from leading the project from start to finish to providing specialist consultancy on a specific element of work. Collaboration brings out the best in any project.
Passivhaus Certification and Consultancy
As well as leading our own projects, we work as specialists providing Passivhaus Consultancy as part of design teams on larger scale projects such as schools, commercial buildings and multi unit housing. In addition, Kirsty is the first and currently only Scottish based consultant who has undertaken the Passivhaus Certifier training.
Kirsty has over 25 years of experience working in eco architecture around the world and the other members of our team add further depth to that expertise. Current projects are on the doorstep, across Scotland and internationally and the practice team are equally passionate. Clients range from private individuals to large scale organisations such as The United Nations Development Programme.
Our projects are about the interaction of people, place and the environment. We work on our doorstep, across Scotland and internationally. How can we help with your project?
