We are delighted that Perth and Kinross Council Planning Committee voted unanimously to approve a new ecohouse designed by us here at Kirsty Maguire Architect Ltd. The house is designed not only to have a very low energy consumption in use, but also to be completely off grid and powered entirely by renewables. The house will be powered by electricity from a wind turbine and from biofuels grown on site, so waving goodbye to fuel bills as well as demonstrating commitment to a sustainable lifestyle by the Clients.
As well as energy use, it is designed to be very low impact in construction, on the site and ultimately, during deconstruction. It is being constructed from natural, low impact materials and has been designed to eliminate the use of cement. It has also been designed for low visual impact to a modern design.
